Introduction

This website is designed to be a repository of biblical  resources in an effort to understand scriptural history and the veracity of the source materials used in translation.  Key emphasis and focus on differences in bible translations and the use of specific codex’s including the Septuagint and Masoretic Text. During my research I have discovered a plethora of material including manuscripts, websites, and videos elaborating on textual criticism.   In the process of organizing over 40 GB of such material,  I have decided to use this website as an index location in order to share and quick-start the novice as I into the ever-exciting mystery and world of Textual Criticism.

As a newcomer to biblical Hebrew which I recommend to all for Hebrew is a fascinating, dynamic, and profound language.  Understanding the Jewish roots of the Apostles enriches scripture with an original dimension bringing us closer to the true context of it’s meaning.   I may not support the opinions or conclusions of all the material presented in this website but present it as interesting perspectives useful to help with textual criticism.

Translation intro

Translations

There are more bible translations than one could count and unfortunately these translations differ and in some cases contradict  their original sources.   Most of the diversity of translations stem from the age of the reformation and the quest to bring Gods word to the nations as accurately as possible. Yes the basic concept of Literal and Dynamic translations are generally used to justify such diversity in translation but what is fundamentally the cause of these discrepancies are the source material for the translations themselves.

The Hebrew Scriptures “Tanakh” the most extant source material is the Aleppo Codex or rather the surviving Leningrad Codex (1008 A.D.) which constitutes the Masoretic text.  There has been controversy over the 2nd source for the Tanakh which is actually older and known as the Koine Greek Septuagint (250 B.C. to 300 A.D.).

The New Testament of Greek Gospels have a wealth of extant manuscripts dating to the early 2nd century.  Over 5,700 of of these fall in the four basic groups known as the Received Text,  Byzantine Text,  Alexandrian Text, and Critical Text types.

Deviations Intro

Deviations

During this journey I have discovered how astoundingly accurate the scriptures are today from their original compositions, yet, there are variations that in most cases where probably due to scribal mistakes in transmission.   I have discovered clear and purposeful changes or theological censorship of scripture throughout the ages which tend to lend support to church or religious doctrine relating to the confirmation and in some cases divinity of the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua-Jesus.  The Dead Sea Scrolls and other sources will show these manipulations and if your’e open to reason and logical deduction, the evidence will be clear.

These manipulations have caused schisms in both the early Jewish world, then later Christendom.  I believe the motives are in the History of both the Jews of the new millennium and the early Christian churches leading to Jerome.   These divides were so great that it caused the early Jews nearly 2 million deaths in the first two centuries of the new millennium and later a 33 year war of the reformation killing Millions of Christians as recorded below.

“From the birth of Popery in 606 to the present time, it is estimated by careful and credible historians, that more than fifty millions of the human family, have been slaughtered for the crime of heresy by popish persecutors, an average of more than forty thousand religious murders for every year of the existence of popery.”
